I broke a string yesterday.
Went out to buy some.

I went from stock strings [which I presume to be .009] to Fender Bullets 0.009

Anyway, all tuned up, but my trem seems to be unlevel to the body. Which is odd if I#m using the same string gauge. But, I could have just forgotten that that is what it looks like normally.

Anyway, here's pics.

that is unlevel. i'd detune a little and tighten up the trem claws in the back so that it's level. then tune back up. rinse and repeat until finished.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

Will do.

Is yours a 6 screw or a 2 point trem? If it's the latter then it's not levelled, if it's the former well then that's just personal preference it can either be set up like that or it can be set to sit on the body it depends on however you need to use it.

It's a 2 points trem. So it definitely need leveling.

But, what caused this in the first place?

Do this it will help you out fast if you can follow instructions well. 20+ years of playing guitar and if I knew about this it would have saved me a grip of time setting up my trems.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to try that out next time I'm setting up my 550.
