Fender, not Squire, mint condition, made in 1994-1995 at the Fuji plant in Japan, according to the Guitar Dater Project.

Which country are you in? In England it'd be about £350-400, if it was in great condition.

There's one available on my local CL with an assload of upgrades for $600.

Edit: The key upgrade is Fralin pickups.

I see a lot of MIM Strats selling on my local craigslist in the $3-400's...I figured this one would be worth a bit more. BTW...it is something I am considering purchasing, not selling. Just wanted to make sure I'd be getting a good deal.

MIM strats cost 400 new don't they? If I was going to buy a used MIM strat I'd buy it for less than 300 dollars, unless it was a higher model or had upgrades.

Do you have anymore info on the guitar? I think if you paid 500 dollars for a good condition MIJ strat, it would be worth it.

Yeah, well you know how Craigslist is. Just becuase someone prices something at X dollars doesn't mean that's what it's worth. Hence the thread...just trying to get a "real world" value of it.

I'll post what I paid for it in a couple hours after I buy it over lunch...heads will probably explode.

MIJ Strats are up there in quality with the MIA strats, so I would imagain that if its in real good shape you could pull mabey $700-$800 out of it if your lucky.

Didnt they stop makeing them in Japan because they were starting to be better quality than the MIA strats? Thats how I understand it.

you damn mofo.

I'll post up pics when I get home. I couldn't really find signs that it had ever even been played.

It's a bright, almost metallic looking red with white pick guard.

Identical to this pic I found on the net:
