What's the reason for the change, might I ask? Australia's alright, but in many aspects its culture is just a rip-off of America, but with more scenic landscapes.
#13
Yeah, why are you wanting to move?

It's kind of big deal to move out of country.

Wtf? America has the badlands, grand canyon, the great lakes, endless rivers, two oceans, the gulf of mexico, several mountains, and yellowstone national park, and you don't think it's scenic?

i just feel like where i am right now isn't the best place for me.

i just finished my first semester of college and i found it incredibly lame. the classes were boring and frat parties are full of frat kids. i ended up just hanging out with a few people and smoking weed a bunch cause thats all there is to do here in alabama (i came here for college from new jersey). i dont think i want to do college anywhere.

i kinda just want to go someplace warm, play guitar, build my own house and do something like farming without having to worry about shit.

also the whole politics and hipster and hate shit in america really bothers me and i wanna escape all of the "culture".

People change over time. Moving out of a country as large as the US with as many different cultures can be a bad move, but sometimes it's not such a bad move.

You have to understand though, that all that stuff...is everywhere.

Every place has pros and cons, if there was just a magical land where everything was perfect everyone would be there.

Also, do something like farming...what exactly do you mean?

Working an maintaining a farm is hard, VERY hard, work. Unless you have past experience in farming, you might not understand exactly what it takes to be a farmer.

And no matter what you do in life, you're always going to have to worry about shit.

I just think moving out of the country is a little drastic to want to escape where you're at now.

well i have no problem doing manual labor at all as long as i can directly see the results (no idea why thats just how i work apparently). i mean i spent an entire summer building a small house with only like 4 of my friends helping.

so im just looking for a place that is usually warm and doesn't get involved in wars, so that i can just live there.

i also have no problem being poor as long as i have enough food to survive, shelter, and music

I know that where I am, university life seriously isn't like that. It doesn't mean it's the only place where that (doesn't) occur, though. Isn't it all really just what you make it? Maybe you need to find yourself a new hobby, motivation or different friends instead of attempting to move halfway across the world and essentially escape from your problems.

If it's a general "baaaah, life" kind of philosophy that's screwing you over, it's probably going to stalk you wherever you go. Perhaps the solution is more a matter of you re-evaluating how you live, rather than a massive need for you to immigrate elsewhere. That's just what I think, anyway. American life seems like it should have a vast array of opportunities. Just remember how privileged you are in having all that you own, in comparison to many others.

Really fast Internet connection speeds seem to make a lot of people I know happy. Maybe you should try obtaining that, too.

hmmmm now i want to go to australia more! ^^^to tragorius

and i guess the real problem is that i cant really come up with a goal in life. and i was hoping that some manual labor in a nice climate would fix that. not so you say?

Moving is a bit extreme, honestly. Shouldn't you just try a fine holiday and see if you like that first?

It's waaaaaay more than manual labor.

In fact, that's probably the easiest part of being a farmer.

I think zephyrclaw might be on to something.
