I was looking for new pick ups to replace the Seymour Duncans in my Jackson KE3 Kelly.

For the bridge, I'm just looking for a high gain pickup, seeing as I play metalcore and some heavier Buckethead songs on this position. Good highs and lows, rolled back mids.

In the neck, I'm looking for a pickup with a great shred tone, such as in the intro to Alaska by Between The Buried And Me, but also one that will clean up nicely, for the clean sections of those Buckethead songs I was talking about. Lots of bass, medium mids and highs.

I'll be coil tapping both of these pickups.

I've looked at the EMG X series (81/85 combo), and liked the tone they give, but I'm fairly sure you can't coil tap them. So maybe something similar?

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

BKP Warpigs or a set of actives, I like my EMGs but Blackouts may have a more natural sound.
I pick up my guitar and play

This may or may not end up sounding stupid, but I thought that you couldn't coil tap actives? Does the Warpig clean up very well?
