Hey!

I need a new amp as you can see from my crappy Line 6 spider 2 75-watt
It's a good practise amp and has hundred of sounds but i need something for gigging with (playing Indie Rock/Regional Indie/New Wave)

I have seen 3 different combo/half stacks:
1. Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 40-watt with an Enclosure (£750)
2. Fender Hot Rod Deville 412 60-watt (£675)
3. Hiwatt Hi-Gain 100w head and Hayden 240w half stack (£800)

As you can see im not really wanting to spend over £800, as i dont have that much and i'm gonna buy some pedals etc

I'm open to any suggestions that anyone may have

Thanks

The Hot Rod Deluxe has great cleans, but a terrible drive channel. The Hiwatt, on the other hand, has excellent cleans and drive. Not particularly sure about the speaker cabs for the Hiwatt, though.

Shell out the extra £50 for the Hiwatt. That's a pretty good price with cabinet.

I know both the fenders u mention and they are amazing. Dont know the Hiwatt but if other ppl say go for it, well go for it. But I'm sure You can find a cheaper and very decent cab to go along with it. Maybe a Framus 2x12 with vintage 30's or thats a set that has to be with that cab?

I'd say that depends on what you want from a drive channel. I love the drive on my FHRD, but I'm not looking for a "metal" sounds like out of a Marshall.

Here's a good video demo of the FHRD and all it's channels:

What? I actually sort of like the HRD OD. It sounds kinda weird, I agree, but for a lot of applications it sounds nice. IMO it sounds a lot better with an OD.
