I normally play songs from sublime (almost all of them), the expendables, pepper, go! jimmy go!, goldfinger, and a lot of other stuff. some songs that aren't ska i'd like to use with the guitar is anything from nirvana. i've been thinking of the s-470 from ibanez cause brad used one, but i heard the problems people with the trem have experienced. basically, i want something with the sound and maybe a vibrato kind of bridge.

Fat Strat, '72 Deluxe Tele, SG or Ibanez SA series all are good options.

Tbh, tone isn't really an issue in most ska-punk, so you could probably get away with just about any guitar, expect a guitar with active pickups.

I'd put the money more towards an amp.

EDIT: Look into getting a Marshall JCM800 or JCM900. You can always a/b switch it with your Fender for your cleans.

Ska?
Anything other than a telecaster is witchcraft for ska. Although you did say "ska-punk", and i'm thinking more along the lines of The Specials. You cant go wrong with a tele though
