I have an acoustic setup with an Ibanez troubadour acoustic amp. I want to experiment a bit with the setup and some effect pedals. Are there any issues such as imedence that I should be concerned with that may damage the amp?

Nah, not at all. What you should be worried about is tone.

For acoustic stuff (as i have experimented with this myself), i'd go for a chorus, delay and a volume pedal.

The next problem u'll encounter, is your tone. Try to get a tone buffer (like in the Visual Volume Pedal VV10), or get all of your pedals true bypass.
