They can be good if you are doing some lengthy exercise or playing sports. This is because they help replenish electrolytes.

But for your average exercising or daily life they really aren't a good option. You're better off just drinking water.

Not really. Even if you were to use the almightiest filter known to man, you wouldn;t get pure water.
It's just one more reason why 'homeopathy' is just another word for 'placebo'.
