dont ever get a solid state half stack. It is a waste of money if you want quality tone. For $400 more you can get a great tube halfstack.

Check out the Ampeg VH140c or a Hughes and Kettner Zentera, or a Roland Jazz Chorus, or a Sunn Beta Lead, or one of the dozens of other great SS heads and say that again.

OP, what styles do you play and what is your budget? Why does it need to be a stack?

Also my style is classic rock. Ac/Dc, Guns, Van Halen, and teh similar but I may still play things like Coheed and Cambria, Trivium, etc...

Jet City JCA20H and a decent distortion pedal, try a used TS9 or a used Hardwire pedal.
Also, try and find a B52 AT-112, it may be a bit loud (60 watt tube) but it's worth it.
