hey guys, i'm not really good with power metal song structures my guess is they usually go like this: (please correct me if i'm wrong)

intro
verse
chorus
solo
verse
chorus
verse

is that right? what do you guys think?

and is it possible for me to write power metal without having much knowledge in music theory (i've played power metal songs before, but i havent written one before.)
I do know my scales though...

thanks for your help...

Not every song follows the same structure, and yes but it will help.

Yes its possible to write power metal without theory.

Is there a reason you are trying to write without theory?

I dont know of any specific "power metal song structure that's better than another" its all about the content of the song and how strong your material is to start with. Some other things that you might want to add to a power metal song is maybe a bridge and a breakdown or mosh or blastbeat section.

the reason is i dont know much theory, other then guitar scales... and harmonizing some guitar parts, if that even counts.
i never really learned theory but i can play some yngwie malmsteen, rhapsody of fire, blind guardian, manowar, avantasia.... and so in the future i want to write my own power metal song.

& thanks for your help
