Im getting my very first electric guitar this Christmas although i do have to buy myself an amp. I have 100- 150 euros and am looking for something for at home, ive around 15 to 20 watts is good for this type of playing.

I wanted to know what brands are best and most reputable at lower prices and if possible an amp model and any other possible advice you can give me on purchasing my first amp.

thanks for the help

Peavey Vypyr 15/30, Line6 Spider IV 15/30

no although the IV is better than the III it still sucks, also do not go near a marshall mg they suck aswell and you will end up being embarresed owning one

In terms of cheap gear, Marshall and Line6 are generally adviced AGAINST, yes. Though, it is always up to you and how your ears respond to the amps.

The Peavey Vypyr 30
Vot VT30
Roland Cube 30x

They are your best bets. You can pick them up for dirt cheap on your local classifieds, or even on ebay.

I wouldn't really define the Marshalls as cheap... more like low end.

At the very least... stay away from these amps...

ANY AND ALL Marshall MG amps.

ANY Line 6 amp that has the word Spider on it (with the exception of the Spider Valve)

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.
