Hi guys. I was just wondering, based on body shape alone do you prefer the PRS SE Custom 24 or Singlecut ? Normally I'd be sold on the custom but the lack of a carved top kinda throws me off. I'm trying to decide between these two guitars. So Thanks

i would take the 24 only cause I use the 24th fret a lot.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

I love the classic PRS look, but that needs the carved top. So I'll say singlecut.

BTW, I hadn't seen the latest rounds of the SEs. Those look incredibly good - I did a double take thinking maybe you'd linked the real deal.

I agree with this, its the only thing keeping me from buying a custom. I for one wouldn't mind paying a little more to get a carved top. I'm just too poor to afford a higher end model

Aye it's a bit of a jump between the SE and Custom price range but if you go used you could always find a good one for a bargain.

If you haven't held both then I HIGHLY recommend doing so. The neck profiles are night and day. The single cut has the wide/fat while the custom 24 has the wide/thin. I love PRS's wide/fat carve but didn't like the wide/thin at all.

I've got an Ibanez with a Wizard II and a 90's Yamaha RGX421DM with a thin neck that I love, but that thin neck on the PRS just felt out of place to me.

I have played both and I found both necks comfortable. I will definitely be trying both out again before I buy however.

Oh, SE....crap, change one of the votes for custom to singlecut. I think the SE customs look really bad with the lack of carved top just like you do TS

If you want a PRS Custom style guitar with a carved top, Tokai make a really good copy (frankly, better than the PRS SEs) for about the same price with a full carved top.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.
