Be glad you're not in Australia. Silly expensive down there.

I'm actually planning on moving to the UK in the next year or so, and I'm not sure which, if any, amp I'm going to bring with me. My Bad Cat can be wired for 240v, but my Ecstasy is my favourite.

First of all HNAD, you definately have some awesome gear!

And as for the UK, you should definately bring what you can and get it converted or something...cause anything made in the US costs loads more over here! A dual recitifier new tends to got for around £2000 ish...which at the current exchange rate comes out somewhere around about $3200, probably gonna work out cheaper to get your stuff converted!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to bring my Ecstasy over with me and either get it converted, or buy myself one hell of a step-down transformer.

We'll see. I have lots of time to sort it out.

Yeah, its one of those old, antequated features the first generations of the rectifiers had, just like the attached power cable, the small Mesa logo, and so on.

PHAIL!

Does it sound sinificantly different from the present day Dual Rec? I'd assume its a 2 channel Dual Rec right?

It is a 2 channel, yes. And while it doesn't sound significantly different than modern Dual Rec's (they all still have that Dual Rec sound), this one can do it better. The 2 channel models have less fizz, are tighter, are warmer, and are more focused yet raw sounding. The new ones, however, have a great clean channel. Don't get me wrong, the cleans on the 2 channel models is alright, but its nothing to write home about.

I tried there too, but I don't like teh Dumbles or Robben Ford enough for them. There were lolz to be had when Zachman posted his huge rack in a thread about shoegaze, but other than that....nothing.

I see.

I've heard quite a few UGers banter on about the 2 channel dual rectos without really understanding what made them different. Although it did form an association that 2 channel DR > 3 channel DR.
