He is the bassist for Franz Ferdinand in case you didn't know. On their latest album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand he has this amazing crunchy yet thick sound. I know 90% is probably the use of a Rickenbacker and an Ampeg 8x10 but how can you get that sound? Specifically on "No You Girls".
i'll try getting back to you on this one i know that its pretty bass heavy on their first album and has a really thumpy sound so i would say boosting the bass and maybe the mids.I'll give the album a spin when i get home and should have a better judgement.

But his old tone comes from an SWR Goliath,Ric,and a Hagstrom bass im sure.Dunno if he's using any pedals i might throw a few words about and find out what gear he's got on stage
