So my little Laney is making some crackling noises whenever I turn the gain knob. Sometimes it's making exactly the same noises when I'm just playing clean and not touching the knob. It's barely hearable but I'm a little worried. Could it be the tubes or should I try to clean the gain pot? Or should I replace it?

Thanks in advance.

No.

Well, technically it could be done, but only in the same way that you could change a cat into a hamburger. It's an unpleasant process, and nobody is happy with the result.

Almost definitely a pot in need of cleaning or replacing.
Tastes like chicken, if chicken was a candy.

Give the Pot a shot of DeOxIt...then work it around a little bit. That should do the trick
