I hope this is general knowledge but I kind of doubt it: "black magic woman" by Santana is actually a song written by peter green back when he was with fleetwood Mac. While watching "the peter green story" I believe on youtube, they interview Carlos Santana and he says they took peter Green's song "black magic woman" and "took it to a whole different level" or something akin to this. My question is, what do you think of this statement? Do you think there is some truth to it, or do you think this is just Carlos Santana trying to justify that their major hit was actually written by someone else. Taking someone else's song was kind of the norm in the British blues days and still is. What do you think?

I personally like Green's version better.

how are you gonna come

or on the trigger of your gun
