I play modern rock/progressive rock (Circa Survive, The almost, Showbread) etc. And am torn between two combo amps.

I can either get the vox ac15 custom classic or the fender hot rod deluxe.

both are good amps.

How loud is a vox ac15?

are they reliable?

Firstly. Give us a solid budget, mate. Give us your location. Give us your guitar and your set up.

I heard that the AC15 is LOUD. Even 5 tube watts will shake the walls, so I'm sure 15 would be great, depending how big your gigs are.

You should check to see what the majority of your favourite bands use, if you want to get a really close sound, because Fender and Vox have sortof "opposite" tones. Not that either is better or worse, just slighty different.

Also, the Vox has built in tremolo and reverb (although apparently the reverb is weird) and I don't think the Fenders have built in effects. Just something to consider.

I feel like neither of those amps are going to have enough gain on their own for those bands, but I could be wrong

I understand that i will probably have to boost them with a pedal.

I just want the absolute best tone for 500 dollars, as well as reliability.
