From Low E to D. (3-2-0) is it some sort of G? can someone gimme the name? I just heard/saw it in a chord progression and it sounds really cool to me. I think those are the strings that are played but I can't be sure. maybe he plays an open G string too.

its the beginning of a G major chord, root third fifth. G, B, D.

Yeah it is a G. It is only playing the bottom three notes of it. If you look at a full G chord it will have three notes; a G, B, and D. Those are the same three you are talking about up there.
It's a G major triad, to use the terminology.
