Hey everyone.

I was just wondering if I could possibly fit grover tuners into my 72' Telecaster Deluxe.
I hate the tuners on the telly cause I cant put 10-52 strings in there. And I'm extremely uncomfortable playing with regular 10's. I couldn't find the info about those stock tuners anywhere.

thanks folks.

They are 70s tuners and 0.52 string is just too wide to fit into the tiny hole. Google the tuners and u'll see what I mean.

Is there enough metal to just drill out the existing tuners?

I'm asking just because my bandmate has a 72' deluxe tele with .11-.52 strings for some slide stuff. Nothing's wrong with the stock machine heads

I'd roll with this, if the only reason you don't like the tuners is that the hole is too small, you should first try to widen the diameter.
Gear:

Guitars: Ibanez SV5470F, Ibanez Xpt700, Fender MIM Standard Stratocaster ('04-'05), Jackson Ps-2
Ashton AG200,
Amps: ENGL E530, Bugera 6262-212,
FX: TC Electronics G-major 2, Behringer EQ700, Morley Volume / Wah

11-52 set of strings doesnt exist I think.
Its 11-48. or 11-54.

It does and it's called 11 Medium w/wound G string (11-52).

This set is actually for acoustics and my bandmate uses this guit for the slide only, but it's is not relevant to this thread.

The fact is that he can mount this set with no probs. Tuners are original fenders

Btw, i cannot see any probs with any other 6-in-line replacement tuners.

Don't wanna drill extra holes, or?
