errr....
Peavey 6505+ (practically a shoo in, but i'm not sure if you can get a half stack at this pricing or not, otherwise the 6505+ 112 should be something you could look at)
Krank Rev Jr Pro 50 (if you can accept the voicing)

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

do you need a good clean tone? if yes, used peavey XXX/Ultra/3120, bugera 333...
if no, used peavey 5150/6505

The Bugera 333, 6262 and the Peavey 5150/6505/+ heads are good for the money, but getting a decent cab to go with them... with the Bugeras it's possible, but I've understood they're no longer made, and the Peaveys are too expensive new... so hunting the second-hand market is your only option here if you really want a half stack. The Peavey 6505+ 112 combo is killer and easily within the price range, but they're also hard to find, as Peavey made too few of them and atm they're mostly sold in the USA.
Gear:

bugera 6606 (i think thats the name) is a cheaper copy of the 6505+

It's the Bugera 6262 thats a copy of the 6505+...actually has a better clean sound too IMO. Just bear in mind the quality control issues that Bugera has.

Bugeras are very much still being made man. they pulled the 333/333xl series and 6260/6262 off some websites for now to push their 2 new lines. the V series(V5,V22,V55) and the 1990(Jcm900 copy) and the 1960( Marshall 1959SL Plexi copy)

but yeah you can still get the 333 and 6260 series amps

I don't think they pulled them to push the new lines. I think they pulled them due to reliability issues. I know a couple places that refuse to carry them because 8 out of 10 of them would come back to the store broken.
Mesa Rev. G Triple Rectifier
Mesa Series II Single Rectifier
Mesa Stage 1 Stiletto Deuce

well they are still in production as far as the stores in my area say that still carry them. the GC and few local stores out in San diego county where i live hasnt had any returns on the newer model 333/6260 series yet. they have returns on a few V55HDs, 2 1990s and 3 1960s so far. all due to tube sockets not connected right and 2 that had the internal fuse blow on them(not good at all) so hopefully one day they get all that stuff taken care of. but yeah the GC here firsts Bugera return due to broken amps and all was a 1990, so not all of the 333/6260 series are bad..and from they said ..seems like most of the problem amps were the 333 series
