Howdy everyone!

I'm new here. Started posting yesterday. Thought I'd do an intro post and throw in some gear pics too.

I'm Matt. I'm 27 and have been playing for like 10 year. Started out with a green Squier Strat (first year that had the 70's headstocks) and a Crate GX-15. I still have both of them.

I listen to just about everything. Favorite bands include Volbeat, Metallica, Nirvana, Sponge, The Living End, Nickel Creek, Social Distortion, Reverend Horton Heat, Down and a lot more...

Anyway, here are the gear pics.
This one is a bit old. The Tremoverb was on loan from a friend.

Here are the two new amps...

Thanks guys!

It's a bad combination of me always wanting to try new gear but not wanting to get rid of anything.

On the other wall is a drumset and my 3 PC LAN gaming rig. I'm a nerd.

Triple Recs and Marshalls?

How the hell does that cat still have fur with all those decibels flying around down there?
Tastes like chicken, if chicken was a candy.

I would be ecstatically happy with 1 maybe 2 of those amps and a collection of tele's like that.

Most 09's have been completely geartarded, retarded, or just annoying (or any combo), making threads that could have been answered with the search bar.

You're one of the few that actually knows their gear, and who has amazing gear in the first place, and will more than likely be a huge knowledge addition to UG.

That's what he means mate

How do you say "I'm okay" to an answering machine?

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

I can't own a MG or a Spider III. If I leave it alone in that room all the other amps will gang up on it and kill it.

Nah dude, everyone has to start somewhere. My first amp was a Crate GX-15. I still have it sitting in my living room so I can jam while watching TV. My first gigging amp was a Fender Deluxe 112+. Took me YEARS to figure out what I wanted and what was out there.

If you dig it, thats all that matters.

Awesome to hear from a fellow RD owner.

I'm a 6L6 man myself but EL34s do sound pretty damn good in Rectos. I want to try some KT77s, though. Supposed to be like the best qualities of the EL34 and 6L6 in 1 tube.

Cool little amp. Build quality suprised the hell out of me. It feels solid and weights more than it looks.

Cleans aren't anything to write home about. They are there and usable but don't expect much.

Dirties are fantastic. It sounds similar to my Fender Bassman when its cranked(the bassman). Enough gain on the dial to go all the way up to hard rock. Most people would probably need a boost to get into metal territory. Sounds best with V30s, IMO. I tried it with H30s too and it got very brittle and overly twangy.

Volume wise I would think it could hang with a drummer but you probably won't be able to get real clean with it. It's be great bar gig head if paired with a good pedalboard and a 2x12.

Nice collection very broad sound base you got there.

The Marshall cab is cool. A bit limiting in its stock form. It only sounded good with my DSL. A couple years ago I replaced two of the speakers with V30s and now it sounds a lot better and sounds good with everything I own. Seems like the 75 and V30s make up for eachothers short comings.

That being said, I far prefer the Mesa cab. Much sturdier and more solid feeling and just sounds bigger.
