So I have a friend who has an LTD MH-1000, with floyd rose, and emg 81/85.
She is NOT a metal player, and these pickups are definitely not for her (some say the guitar is not for her either, but she loved it right from the start, so she kept it)

She is generally into classical, light rock, indie...
She fingerpicks everything.

The tone she is looking to play with the most, would be very warm, clean, and mellow... but she would like to be able to have a lot of tonal options, such as playing dirty rock, like Jack White.

The coils will be split with a 5 way super switch

So far she's listed these:

Seymour Duncan Custom 5/Jazz (from the horizon custom)

Seymour Duncan JB/59 (from fixed bridge model of the MH-1000)

Dimarzio PAF PRO/Tone Zone or AIR ZONE (Friend advises these)

The guitar in question

We appreciate your help. Feel free to toss other suggestions around.

By classical, do you mean classic rock or classical guitar? I know someone with the JB/59 in their MH-1000, and it's pretty nice for gainy stuff, but I don't know about the cleans.

Classical music. Neoclassical too, but not the metal shreddy neoclassical.

DiMarzio Air Classic Bridge & Neck?
DiMarzio Humbucker from Hell Bridge & Neck?
DiMarzio Air Zone (Neck) & Air Norton (Bridge)?

Better still how does your friend want her sound to change and what amp does she have?

Budget?

Bridge: Bare Knuckles Nailbomb

If there' a budget... try...

DiMarzio

Seymour Duncan

Fender Super Champ XD. So you get the idea. Fat lows, but clear and crisp. She basically wants pickups with character. Her EMGs are sterile compared to what she's had in the past. Budget's not really an issue much, but $70-100 USD for each.

JB/59 would work, though suggest to her using the neck PU (85) and roll off of the volume a bit. Also lower the tone knobs a bit for a not so trebly sound
