So I might be gigging in a sort of damp cavish bar soon. I was wondering if the quite noticeable dampness would effect my guitar/amp in any way...

P.S. Sorry if this isn't the right forum nothing else seemed to fit...

Well yeah. Guitars and amps are supposed to be kept away from excessive heat and moisture.

ive gigged in a place called the cavern, it has that kind of feel. it was an awesome gig, the acoustics werent bad
#13
Your sound will probably affected by the cave.
And watch out for the spider triggering electric shocks in your amp.
#14
I figure if they want you to play there then they've had bands there before, so it can't sound that bad. I'd go for it, of course, I play any gig I can for money
#16
I'd say do it. As long as you're not doing a 4-hour gig, everything will be fine.
Check out my punk band!!! Lizard on the Window We found a drummer and are now recording.

whats wrong with doing it that long?

I clicked on this thread because I thought it said "Giggling in a cave?" and I was intrigued.

The truth is much more mundane.
If only summer rain would fall, on the houses and the boulevards
And the sidewalk bagatelles, it's like a dream
With the roar of cars and the lulling of the cafe bars,
The sweetly sleeping sweeping of the Seine...

Nah, it's a cellar kind of bar, but a very big room... A lot like the beatles' cavern lol. But seeing as I'll probably b going often, would it effect my gear?

Damp won't do your amp any good.

Or your guitar come to think of it.

Backed by loads of money.

If their instruments got ****ed, they would simply buy a replacement. No biggie. Can you do that?
