On the subject of NOFX, the song "13 Stitches" starts with

The first time that I saw the descendants
They were the fastest band I ever saw

and I will be completely honest, I thought they were made up for the longest time.

Oh, and Bruce Eddie and Paul (again by NOFX) is about Iron Maiden.

Although it's been denied by the current members of KoRn, it's a commonly held belief that the songs Liar, Love and Luxory, and Ever Be had something to do with Head. If you listen to the lyrics (and understand the drama surrounding the whole Head leaving Korn issue) it's fairly obvious they were written about him. poor guy.

"Skank By Numbers" - Mustard Plug

Have never skanked? Well it's time to start!
Soon you will be a rudeboy hot!
Finally we'd like to stop and thank our roots,
respect the Specials, Maytals, and Toots!
Wailing Wailers, Laurel Aitken, and (english) Beat,
but most of all the Skatalites, they're music complete!

A few of these in You Don't Belong by Bad Religion

Tom took his life in his mother's car (don't remember who this is, I think they had a bassist named Tim for a short time, not sure If he killed himself though)

Milo went to college but you knew about that
(Milo Aukerman, singer from the Descendants who's first album is Milo Goes to College)

Jack wore a skirt but he knew how to scrap
(Reference to Jack Grisham, singer for TSOL, wore a skirt on stage)

GG started riots
(GG Allin, anyone who has even heard of him in passing knows he was pretty damn crazy)

Billy went to county on a class one possession
Wendy went to school while her daddy shot smack
(Reference to their guitarist Brett Gurewitz, he seems to be referred to as Billy in some of their songs for some reason, Wendy is his daughter.)

There are a few more, I think a reference to Rodney on the Rock, a roadie for Black Flag, and a few people they knew personally (guess that doesn't really count.)

Sabaton-Metal Crue

Take some venom and accept
That you won't see nazareth
The rainbow leads you home

Warrior sent to milky way
Ufo shooting gamma ray
A riot of destruction

Watch the rockbitch go down, vixen spread

When the priest killed a maiden in the metal church
Armored saints and warlocks watched the slaughter
Rage of the slayer forced the pretty maids
To kiss the queen in crimson glory

You were born a motorhead
Bike's in flames you race ahead
You do the kansas rush

Racing with the motley crew
Annihilator chasing you
With guns and burning roses

Status quo has been reached, wasps unleashed

When the priest killed a maiden in the metal church
Armored saints and warlocks watched the slaughter
Rage of the slayer forced the pretty maids
To kiss the queen in crimson glory

Take a skyride with me, then you'll see

When the priest killed a maiden in the metal church
Armored saints and warlocks watched the slaughter
Rage of the slayer forced the pretty maids
To kiss the queen in crimson glory
