I got some of Californication down. I'm pretty new to their music as well. Any songs you guys would reccomend to learn? I've only been playing for a year, but I'll try anything.

californication, the solo is simple but sounds good

edit: sorry just re read your post

maybe you could try under the bridge, it can seem tough at first but it realy helps with chord changes and dexterity

Zephyr Song in addition to the others mentioned above.

RHCP was some of the first stuff I learned to play 4 & 1/2 years ago and I still like to play their stuff.

Desecration Smile & Wet Sand are nice easy songs to play and they sound great.
Readymade is nice if you want a good rocky one.
For funk, try pretty much anything from the Blood Sugar Sex Magik album.

No.

Well, technically it could be done, but only in the same way that you could change a cat into a hamburger. It's an unpleasant process, and nobody is happy with the result.

Not really, just octave chords. The solo is a good one to learn also because it helps with vibrato. I suggest Can't Stop.

I haven't learned a lot of their earlier stuff, just their hits, but I have to say, Zephyr Song, Californication, and Scar Tissue are pretty easy to learn, especially if you wanna try to transcribe songs for yourself. The first RHCP songs I learned were Snow and Under The Bridge, and it took me forever to get the main riffs down, but I learned the rest of the chords right away. I still can't play Snow very fast though, but that's because I'm just not a fast player and probably never will be.

I wanna learn Soul To Squeeze (I say it's one of their most underrated songs ever)

I've tried Cant Stop, its kinda hard, but seems almost impossible to play at tempo.

I've also tried Dosed. Which is fun to just do acousticall and play the chords. It sounds pretty :P
