Heya guys, just got my first seven string, and I need help on finding a few songs to start learning my way around it .

I've already started on Glass Prison and Sanctity of Brothers ( DT, and Unearth respextively), but genres don't really matter to me. I'd prefer some stuff other than prog though.

Thanks, and apologies if this is the wrong forum, haha

Terrible answers so far.

'Wrong Side' by Strapping Young Lad or 'Jato Unit' by Jeff Loomis.

H-Hey, no body asked for your opinion of someone's musical tastes, mmk? TS simply asked what basic seven string songs could he learn to get used to his new guitar. If you can't leave people's suggestions alone without pretentious dick you are, you have no business being here. Thanks anyway.

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think

Try some Scar Symmetry. I think all of their songs are on seven strings except for one where they use an eight string.

That's the band I was trying to remember earlier. I hate that low-down metal, but I can't get enough of Scar Symmetry. they're just so awesome.

Dude, the entire Shogun album would be great to do. If I had a 7-string, that's the first thing I would do.

if i had a seven string.. i would trade it for another 6 string.. but that's me.. i would go with any unearth...

Fixed.

If you're feeling a little crazy, you could do the Dark Eternal Night by Dream Theater.

Actually check Tenement Funster/Flick of the Wrist/Lily of the Valley off DT new CD. It's pretty cool.
You can call me Aaron.

Just because you don't like the music doesn't mean the op is being led astray.

Music is music no matter what genre it is.

Now be a dick somewhere else.

to op:Korn uses 7 strings.

Trivium's "shogun" album.

Meshuggah if you can keep up with it
