Okay, I'm switching to AT&T because this local, "Pocket" service is really starting to frustrate me. I've been thinking of getting the iPhone because the people that have it all have good things to say about it, yet some people keep insisting that its not worth the money and its not a good phone. I'm looking for a phone that has everything pretty much similar to the iPhone (decent browser, keyboard and regular keypad, touchscreen or not, it doesnt matter, etc.)

So, if anyone can suggest another phone or give me some help, It's greatly appreciated.

this is a no win question. Basically it all comes down to what YOU want. I have the iphone and I personally love it. Although i will say that I am not very happy with AT&T's spotty service. Next year my contract is up, and even though i'd love to stay with my Iphone. If AT&T is still the only provider at that time, I will be switching to the Android.

I'd recommend going to the stores if you can and try out the phones to see which one you like.

Yes, I know it comes down to me, but like I said, I don't have any AT&T phones which is why I'm getting suggestions.

On an iPhone, whenever you save contacts, ringers, pictures, videos, etc. does it use the 8GB or whichever one you got? Like is that 8GB only for the music or you have to share it with ringers, contacts, and all that other stuff?
Sorry kinda confusing lol

If you get the 8GB, you only actually have about 7GB worth of actual memory to use. The iPhone OS takes up a gig, and the more contacts, videos, pictures, etc, the more memory it uses.

Personally, if I were you, I'd get a jailbroken iPhone, and get hooked up with T-Mobile. I just did, and I don't regret it. AT&T's service is terrible.

I hate AT&T so much....don't do it...please don't. You will rage all the time when you see the little "no service" icon at the top of your screen..
I will ruin every of your stuff...

Sir, I believe I love you.
Yeah you can sig that if you want.

At&t is the biggest reason not alot of people have iPhones. If you're going to At&t anyway then you should get it

all of the google android phones are really good. g1, mytouch 3g, droid etc. are really sweet. I have the dream (canada's verzion of the g1) and its a really good smart phone. It has an app store like iphone, internet, email, nice keyboard, and the operating system is really good, smooth and intuitive. plus the physical phone is really nice. My borther has the iphone and i have to say there are somehings on the iphone i like better, but there are also many things on my phone I like better. Plus, I have heard a lot of bad things about AT&T and a lot of these phones aren't for AT&T so you could switch to the service provider that you prefer.

Whether or not to get an iPhone depends on how smart you are. I know a dumb guy who went abroad and ran up about £2,000 worth of internet bills in two weeks (must have been a boring holiday).

We're all still wondering how he managed that one (loads of porn?)

That's one thing I am worried about, is running up the bill because I'm sure AT&T charges for every little thing, so even if I got the iPhone, I'd still be unsure what I would be able to do without being charged for it or whatever.

I'm going to check out those G1 Android Phones right now.
