I have been looking for a 2x12 lately and am probably going to go with an Avatar. Here is the plan....

1. Buy Avatar 2x12 with v30s.
2. Remove the v30s and make an X pattern in my 1960A with my G12T-75s.
3. Put the 2 G12-T75s in Avatar cab.

Now since I left my 1960A up at the uni, im not sure whether to get the 16ohm v30s or the 8ohm. Does anyone know what impedance G12T-75s come in the 1960A? I am having a hell of a time finding it in the interweb.

Edit: I THINK they are 16ohm, but m not sure

What's the impedance on the 1960A and how is it wired? Once you know that, simple math can tell you what the speaker impedance is.

I have a JCM 900 era 1960A. All the speakers are 16 ohms (G12T-75's). Just be sure to check though.
- Gibson Flying V 120 #1 (White)
- Gibson Flying V 120 #2 (Cherry)
- Gibson SG Standard ('61 style)
- Jackson DK2M

- ENGL Fireball 60
- Avatar 4x12

- Many pedals, plus other stuff

It can either be 4ohm or 16ohm mono, or 8ohm stereo, so it doesnt help me there.

If your jcm800 era has 16ohm i bet the ones in mine are too.

Actually that does help. They'll be 16 ohm wired in parallel mono and series/parallel mono.
