I currently have 275 saved up and play hardcore kind of music but i do like a metal and or metalcore kind of tone.
I live in the USA what kind of amp should i get?

edit: Oh yeah i forgot to mention that There is this person on craigslist who is selling a B 52 ls100 half stack for 275 and I dont know if i should get it or not, since im not really gigging but i do jam with friends and the extar headroom would be nice.
Would that amp suit my style?

Double edit: I just realized that i dont know the exact model of the b 52 im pretty sure its one of the older solid state ones.

Hmmmm.
Are you willing to save some more?
At the moment you're looking at a Peavey Vypyr. A very passable practice amp.
But if you can up the budget 150 odd, we could probably almost squeeze out a secondhand 6505 combo.
Just a thought

I probably could save up an extra 150 but it would be a while from now.

See if you can find a Peavey Triumph. They're cheap as and are good for metal and other high gain stuff.

Im wondering about that b 52 i mentioned in my first post, do you guys think i should go for it?
I was think of buying it and then keeping it for a while and then later upgrading the head.

If you get it, get an avatar 212 V30 cab if you're playing metal, stay away from the stock cab.

But i still stand by my secondhand 6505 combo recommendation.
