Hey fellow guitarists,

I wanna buy a Bluesbreaker for my friend. Thing is, should I get the Original Bluesbreaker or the Newer One? Things I'm concerned about are Price and Sound.

So what do you recommend?
GEAR:
Harmony H15 Bobkat
Fender MIJ '65 Reissue Mustang
Fender MIA 1987 Strat Plus
Mesa Express Plus 5:50
TC Electronic Hall Of Fame & FlashbackX4
Barber Direct Drive
Ibanez TS9 Reissue
EHX POG
Goosonique Blitzkrieg Boost

I've got the Bluesbreaker II Pedal, and I think it's very good, although I've never compared it to the original.

IIRC, John Mayer's tone of Try! is the original bluesbreaker pedal into a clean amp.

well, it was lots of different pedals into lots of different amps.
but have you thought about trying out the pedal, and seeing if YOU like it?

Really, I thought that was what the overdrive was for most of it and it was a stripped down rig, where as in Continuum he went nuts with the pedals.

im pretty sure he at least used another OD (probably an old tubescreamer) and maybe a keeley katana. and back then he used a fender amp or two, often had a dumble, and i feel like there was something else but i cant remember for sure.

compared to his other rigs that is quite stripped down lol.
