Hey I got my brother a Ibanez RG420 and I was tuning it up after I set it up and dropped and lost one of the things that locks the strings at the nut. I can't find it so I ordered another 6 and was wondering would it being played without it have any effect on it?

Don't worry, my first string change after I got my FR I nearly wrecked it and lost all the small parts. Happens to a lot of people man. It's always best to set up a clear work space before changing an FR, and always be careful. Best of luck in the future, if you can afford it just get the replacements bits anyways in case it happens again.

Well, the spares will be a good thing to have. Those annoying little things disappear as much as picks in my house.

:S How often are you taking them off? You might want to keep them in a sandwich bag or a resealable bag every time you take them off so you don't lose track of them.
