Looking for a strat neck pickup to go with the Dimarzio Virtual Solo bridge pickup.

I don't want a humbucker sound so I don't want any of those "mini humbuckers"

I was thinking of putting in the HS4 (formerly YJM) in the neck to go with the Virtual Solo

Any suggestions?

Mainly hard rock/metal (all kinds....classic like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Pink Floyd, Cream, Hendrix to Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Iced Earth to some death metal) but also other styles so i like versatility

the hs-4 might be too hot compared to the virtual solo. usually the bridge pickup should be hotter than the neck pickup.

neck - area 61 or virtual vintage heavy blues 2

but actually i really think u should get the single coil humbuckers since u will be playing metal. u could get 2 single coils for the neck and middle and a single coil humbucker in the bridge. a Chopper or Super distortion S should be good for the bridge.

1 question, does it have to be Dimarzio? Check out seymour duncans, bareknuckles, tone rider, irongear etc.
