I've got an ibanez prestige RG, and when playing through a tube amp i can get really good cleans by rolling off the volume knob.

Through my aria magna series (much cheaper guitar), even with the same bareknuckle pickup, there is no cleanup and the tone just gets muddy and dull sounding.

Would changing the volume knob in the aria improve the response or is it not so simple? And what kind of pots would be a good choice?
Ibanez RG1550 w/ BKP nailbombs
Aria Magna series w/ Dimarzio SD
Blackstar HT 5
Fender FM210R
Ibanez DE7
Keeley/Boss BD2
Line 6 floor pod
There's an easy solution, but it isn't about replacing the pot.
