I'm gonna mod my bad monkey by swapping out a few caps, just wondering if there are any specific ones I should use?(type, not value, i.e. metallized, ceramic etc)

Unless I need a polarised cap, I use mylars. There are some exceptions, like when I can only get certain values in ceramics (usually very small capacitance) There isnt really any difference in terms of sound.

I've heard a few people talking about differences in sound on other forums, but it's usually a very small difference that you probably won't hear unless you have an excellent ear. kinda like when I was building my first distortion pedal (a 250+ from BYOC) I tried a mod where I added a couple of switches for switching clipping diode types and I can barely hear the difference between the 1N34A's, the N914's, and the N4001's

depends on the value of the capacitor. for anything under 1n i'd go ceramic, 1n-1uf i'd go poly, and 1uf-above i'd go eletrolytic or tantalum

^Thanks, I'll use poly.
