the light fitting in my room is slightly loose - and sometimes vibrations or knocks can cause the light to go out very suddenly. If i shut he door harder than usual by accident, the light goes out and shocks the hell out of me.

any similar situations in pit monkey's lives?

Cockroaches.

Same here. I live in Florida, so I've had close encounters with snakes, lizards, bats, mice and none of them bother me in the slightest, but bring a cockroach within 10 feet of me and I go into panic mode. Dunno why, it's not like I ever had a traumatic experience with a cockroach.

Porcelain dolls were something I always had a problem with. I remember when i used to stay at my nan & granddad's house as a little kid, and they had a couple in the house....fuck that shit, I could hardly ever sleep.

Dark, empty rooms. Say, if someone left a room and turned off the lights without closing the door behind them, I can't passing without walking really, really fast. I always think something's watching me.

And when my cat randomly walks into my room at night. Not even run, or make noise, just walk.

Dead things, seriously. I'm even afraid of roadkill, like it doesn't actually scare me but i won't go near it. I remember seeing a half decomposed dog under a bridge once, i kept staring at it but i wouldn't go near the thing.

I used to find clocks and mirrors terrifying. Seeing something horrible behind you in a mirror is a horror film cliche, and for some reason I found the constant ticking of clocks sort of sinister.

There's not many, but I can't ****ing stand spiders. You don't know whether they're poisonous or not unless you have some experience with them, or have studied them. They make me shudder, so lifeless. I do appreciate the goodness they bring though, eating things that are a nuisance as well.

i absolutely agree with the first one. my parents have gone on this crazy turn-the-lights-off-save-the-planet thing.

but, my cat spends most of his day in my room, because i have the softest carpet.

I'm going bed soon so I've got it just as bad.

That's the common house spider you find, the ****er that runs fast, just the picture is close up... I know there are a few in my house. There's a nice one in the bathroom that comes out from behind a cabinet, presumably it feeds on the skin flakes and stuff. It looks like a young one & it doesn't bother me, but some are downright horrible. I'm not a fan of jumping spiders either.

Saying that snakes and scorpions don't scare me, which I find very odd.
