So, I'm going to University soon, and at the moment I have a massive 2x12 Vox combo, which has lovely tone, but just isn't practical for tkaing to University.

I've heard good things about the Vypyr, and I like the amount of options you have with them, so I'm tihnking I could teade in my amp for a Vypyr, 30 watts.

Does anyone know if the Vypyrs are a manageable size?

My friend has got one, it's really not that heavy at all, and coming from an 87lb guy, that's saying something.

Oh okay.

What is the tone like for metalcore/post hardcore music?

A tube amp, even 5 watts, would be a bit sucky in a dorm. At least I wouldn't appreciate it if he played it in the dorm I live in. I only play with headphones (or unplugged)

Yeah, the Vypyr has a headphone slot so thats why I like it

Also I love effects and play lots of music like Muse, Bloc Party and Radiohead so its nice to have al the built in effects to mess around with.
