Here's the first verse.

Where were you
When the peaceful were killed?
When the towers fell?
When six million were gassed?

Where were you
While your children starved?
While your image rebelled?
While the good died young?

Where were you
When miracles stopped?
When you left us to drown?
When your sons spilled their blood?

Where were you when deception began?
Where are you when people kill in your name?

As a first verse I really liked this. Definitely should be spoken, possibly some yelling towards the end. But I hope the entire song isn't a rant like this. As an intro/first verse it works. But if the song continues in this direction it's going to get tiring and feel like a laundry list. I think the rest of the song should be more descriptive. Describe a scene/ paint a vivid picture for us. Help relate the situation of an absentee to the present day/ the narrator's life. Give us something that personal that makes the narrator say these things. Anyways, nice job (so far)and can't wait to see the rest of it.

Crit mine please

^^^^ This. I think the particular scene you portray in the next verse should be one of the ones you mentioned in the first one. Thanks for critting mine!

OK, updates:
Where were you
When the innocents died?
When miracles stopped?
When you left us to drown?
Where were you
While your children starved?
While your image rebelled?
While the good died young?
Where were you
When your sons spilled their blood?
When the towers fell?
When six million were gassed?
Where were you when your church began?
Where are you when people kill in your name?

CHORUS
Why not part the sea of shit
Your disciples have dumped on the world?
If you’re all knowing all loving almighty
Why not love the people who need you?
You can’t!

Where were you
When a man wrote a book?
When that book became law?
When men killed for its sake?
Where were you
When the planes hit the twins?
When the fire rained down
When a nation mourned?
Where were you
When the brown shirts marched?
When the swastikas flew?
When the ash filled the air?
Where were you at Auschwitz and Dacchau?
Where are you when innocents die in your name?

CHORUS

So why believe in an absentee god?
Why do you think that your false prophet cares?
If it’s true what they say and I go to hell,
I’ll wait for the day that I see God put there.

the verses remind me of the Drowning Pool "sermon"

Where was God when I needed a friend
Where was God when I came to an end
Where was God when I lost my mind
Where was God when I could not find

Where was love when I felt like hate
Where was hate when I felt like love
Where were you when you said you'd be there
Where was the fear when I said I was scared

just sayin
