Hello everyone,

I planned to buy a new guitar and on my search, I came across the Maton EM325C ( http://www.thomann.de/de/maton_em325c.htm ). It has a reachable price and seems to be a good one... Unfortunately I never got the chance to test it, but I tested the little brother of it ( without pickup and cutaway ) and liked the sound. In addition a friend of mine got the "big brother" the Maton EBG808TE ( http://www.thomann.de/de/maton_ebg808_tommy_emmanuel.htm ), so I was able to test this one too and was amazed at it's sound.
So what do you think... shall I get the Maton EM325C ?
P.S. I love cutaways, so ...

I wouldn't pay 1400€ for guitar with rosewood fretboard, satin finish and veneer sides&back.
There are lots of amazing guitars in that price range.

Couple of examples:

Maton's are good quality guitars but are unfortunately not very good value outside of Australia. You can do better for the same price.

First of all I want to thank you for your advices!

I heard about the high prices of Maton guitars beyond Australia, but the point is that I tested more guitars than the two Matons ( like Gibson, Lakewood, Taylor, etc. ) and noticed that the most of them are hard playable ... it's hard to play e.g. fingerstyle on them. Furthermore the sound of the Matons and a Martin Guitar was best of all ( the prices were about the same ).

Is it "just" the price what's wrong with this brand ?^^

P.S. : Nice guitars Dix_Fix

Matons are the bomb personally I think they are very hard to beat for sound & I also find them very playable. I simply love my EBG808 (the 225 well i have that as a slide guitar in open 'G' i like the sound) The DC 545 has nothing outstanding but is a great workhorse in the fake 355ish style (think it is a 65 model from memory)
