I take hours to get to sleep tonight from the time that I lay down. The main problem is that I can't stop thinking; even when I just try to relax, I can't get my mind to stop analyzing everything and anything. So, I was thinking if I put a playlist on my iPod of non-high-energy music, maybe it could help me get to sleep. The thing is, most of the music I have on my iPod IS high energy. So far, my playlist (which will be set on shuffle) is:

Moment - Aiden
(Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Mad World - Gary Jules
My December - Linkin Park
Sex and Candy - Marcy Playground
Every You, Every Me - Placebo
Special Needs - Placebo
Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Priest and The Matador - Senses Fail
Lazy Eye - Silversun Pickups
The Trees - Rush
Glycerine - Bush

Seeing as I'll probably have to get rid of a few of those, depending on whether or not they keep me awake, I'm left with a pretty short playlist. Can anybody think of songs I could add to it, that would help me get to sleep? To get an idea of what kind of music I like, lately I've been into Placebo, Senses Fail, and some Silversun Pickups.
Nick Drake's "Pink Moon". I had a lucid dream while listening to it. I was in Alice In Wonderland.
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

Try some classical.......and if that fails then Cannibal Corpse would be a close second. Good luck with the sleep.
Just about anything off of Buckethead's "Colma" my personal favorite is "Lone Sal Bug" or "Spell of the Gypsies" from the "Electric Tears" album. I've used these songs to help me fall asleep before, and recommend it. Good instrumental acoustic stuff.

Terrific album.

Try some Roy Harper as well, he has a good deal of mellow stuff.

This. I recommend buying Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Yanqui U.X.O. if you want to sleep. And Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls is an amazing song.

If you like words with your music:
Bright Eyes (Everything they've done is calming to me)
Death Cab For Cutie's Transatlanticism album

Well this is coming from a guy who could fall asleep to Circle Takes The Square, so... try it out, but I'm not making any guarantees.
One Love by Aiden helps me sometimes
Interlude by I Set My Friends on Fire is pretty peaceful as well

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Sister Do You Know My Name? - The White Stripes
I can fall asleep as long as I'm listening to something I like. As long as you're comfortable. It worked for me with Cradle of Filth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Jimi, SRV. Just don't air drum and lip sync and it might work for you.

Your Hand In Mine - Explosions In The Sky

Also, all of () by Sigur Ros, as well as all of Takk...

I'd also recommend Board of Canada - Campfire Headphase.

It's very dreamy, electronica influenced music.
Wonderful stuff.

I always listen to Tim Armstrong when I'm trying to fall asleep.
"A Poets Life" is a really great album with lots of laid back ska-reggae type songs.
