That's right, my computer got the dreaded Blue Screen of Death today.

Luckily, I was able to locate the problem and I got it fixed.

I almost lost all of my music and art. I was in the middle of a big project, too. If I lost that, I would have been pissed. And probably would have cried.

So, Pit, share your stories about that horrible blue screen. Did you save yourself? Or did you have to get a whole new hard drive?

Excuse me for not knowing, but how does one go about getting the blue screen of death? Is it malware? I'm curious 'cause I've heard about it but never experienced it.

BSOD usually occurs when the hard drive goes wobbly. Basically it dumps physical memory and you loose a bunch of stuff.

you know,

in the BETA builds of windows vista, there was a red screen of death too. and some random line error that was similar to the BSOD but worse...

I've never had the blue screen of death but for about 2 weeks every time I went on my laptop about 10 different things came up saying things along the lines of 'Internet Explorer has stopped working'. It sorted itself out though

lol TS still has windows 98...what a retard (literally)

its 95

and i doubt thats a real picture.

since BSOD blocks out all applications, so the error messages and the microsoft office assistant wouldnt be there...

considering the BSOD is after all a microsoft-written program

it would never say 'buy a mac'

its more likely to say 'give bill gates all your money and he'll fix it'

When rendering something huge out of After Effects, i'll sometimes get a blue screen and have to restart the computer, but I don't think i've ever lost anything.

i have no stance on the matter of mac vs pc.

i use OS X, Windows XP and 7 and Ubuntu and Feodra.

all 3 major platforms, all good for different things.
