What's your budget?

The new MA50C from Marshall looks like it will be good... and the 6505+ combo is 60 watts.

10 watts won't make much of a difference and most tube amps come in multiples of 30 due to the power tubes producing 30watts each.

considering how picky he's being, he's going to have to compromise somewhere. I'm just giving the closest amp I can think of to his diecription

AVT 50 isn't even valve. It has a preamp tube that virtually does nothing.

So you can scratch those off of your list.

That's the problem, you're not giving us a price range to work with, so we can't figure out what best fits your style for the money you want to spend.

Things cost different amounts in different countries.

I could get a 6505 for $599 at my local store, a JCM 2000 halfstack for $1200, Valveking 212 for $620. Could you maybe convert your countries currency for us to help us out and make things easier for all of us?

The 6505+ 112 is only about $600USD which is 2,276.10 Argentine Pesos
it's a compromise on the cleans but if you're looking for a Van Halen tone it's the closest you will get.

Seems to me you're looking for a British-voiced amp...50 watts...combo...valve....good cleans and good distortion? Gets the Van Halen sound?

Totally get the Laney TT50! Very Marshally-sounding...I can easily achieve the Brown Sound with this amp. It's 50-watts valve in combo form!

But you should also be open-minded and less picky about your gear...especially if you'd rather buy a disgusting Marshall AVT over our suggestions.

EDIT: You won't be getting a Van Halen sound from an American-voiced amp like the Peavey 6505+ 112.

Are you sure? The 6505 is similar to the 5150. Eddy uses 5150's

Not entirely true. The 'brown sound' of his earlier albums came from a cranked Marshall 100W super lead. The Peavey 5150 was merely an endorsement...EVH rarely uses it.

A buddy of mine went to a recent gig of his...EVH is still using his Marshalls.

He may still use his Marshalls, but the 5150's do what he wants and they sound good. And you have to admit, the 6505's come pretty damn close to this.

I agree...the 6505 could probably come very close. Unless you're an EVH fanatic, you might as well go with the 6505 112 combo, since in the US, the Laney TT50 combo goes for 1750 USD brand new....lol. If you're in the UK/Hong Kong you could probably get it a lot cheaper. I got mine second-hand for 440 USD.
