Well thinking of getting a electric guitar but i am not sure what to get since i have only been playing my acoustic for half a year and want to start playing more styles of music.
I like a lot of different genres of music and want a guitar that can really play all sorts of music to some extent; Rock-Heavy Metal- might be interested in a bit of Jazz l8r in the future

I mainly have my eyes on the:

Epiphone G-310 $379

or the

Epiphone G-400 $548

since i have read good things about both Guitar's capabilities

Also need a Practice Amp

Any other suggestions would help me in my dilemma to buy a EG

G-400.
The G-310 is a piece of junk - and complete and total junk at that.

The G-400, on the other hand, is a pretty good guitar.
Current Gear:
LTD MH-400 with Gotoh GE1996T (EMG 85/60)
PRS SE Custom 24 (Suhr SSH+/SSV)
Ibanez RG3120 Prestige (Dimarzio Titans)
Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz V
Audient iD22 interface
Peavey Revalver 4, UAD Friedman BE100/DS40
Adam S3A monitors

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

You know, I'm in almost the same situation as you.

Out of those G 400. My friend had one and it wasn't bad...

But I would say get an MIM strat. HSS if you wanna do metal too. You can play all kinds of music with it. Perfect for a beginner electric player and when you become more experienced you will realize it's still a good guitar and you could start working on it (pickups, etc.)

But you should go to a store and check out a lot of different stuff.

+1 on this though if you're saying a G310 cost $379 I do suspect that you don't exactly live in America. But if you do then jump on this deal right now.
