Hey Pit, Me, my girlfriend and one of our friends are gonna be performing some songs at a school function in a couple months, and i'm having trouble making a song list. So far we have:

Alesana-Third Temptation of Paris, and As You Wish

I'm doing vocals, shes doing vocals, and our friends is playing piano and doing vocals as needed. Im looking for some songs that would sound good in this kinda format, cuz i dont just wanna do alesana songs lol. Our friend is a great pianist, so he can def sing if needed. Any genre is fine, though we would prefer rock duet kinda slower songs but anything piano and vocals works! Thanks in advance for any input!

Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley & Alison krauss

I know both songs are more guitar-based than piano but you can work something around that. It's easy.

Some good ones by them would be We Intertwined, A Dark Congregation, Don't Wake Me Up, Wine Red, You're The Moon, Echo.

You could do some Linkin Park or Evanescence songs since they both use pianos regularly. You could also maybe try I Won't See You Tonight Part I by Avenged Sevenfold. Watch Me Bleed by Scary Kids Scaring Kids is another good one.

You could also take songs that don't use piano and adapt them if you want. Like the clean part in White Walls by Between the Buried and Me at around 5:09 in. I don't know what'd you do for vocals on that, but my god, that would sound amazing. I've adapted some of it to piano and played it and I just about had an orgasm.

My Immortal - Evanescence.

That was the Evanescence song I was thinking about. Uses piano, and dual vocals on top of it. Pretty quality song.

I wouldn't recommend Elton John unless one of you has some vocal training. Elton has a lot of range, and his songs are quite hard to sing.

Billy Joel's songs, on the other hand, are fairly easy (for me) to handle. Piano Man is the obvious one, and I also like She's Got a Way.

Journey is good, too. Try Don't Stop Believin', Open Arms, Faithfully, Only the Young, and Who's Cryin' Now.

If you're interested, I have decent piano arrangements of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters and Savatage's All That I Bleed.
No animals were harmed in order to bring you the above post. However, several photons were greatly inconvenienced.
