im currently saving up for a Mesa Boogie Dual rectifier head to buy off of ebay/craigs list for about $1000. seeing as a cabinet of the mesa brand is the same price im looking into other brands such as marshall or vox. i had told one of my friends this and he said to make sure certain things fit. now i get the cabinet has to contain the same amount/more wattage than the head, but is there more to it than wattage matching in order to make a different brand head and a different brand cabinet to work together?
Matching impedance (measured in ohms, symbol is Ω is more important than matching wattage. Just get a wattage that's close.
kinda on this topic... my head and cab have a pretty big difference. it's a 150 watt head and a 300 watt cab. is this not right?
well since your cab has more watts it should be ok because it can handle the wattage, but what about what cedricsmods listed above? do you have those?
