okay guys basically i need to know which wire is which... my dad bought me a new prewired pickguard for my strat and on the original strat, the wires were labled (white and black) and the new one is black and black, but on the end of one it has a white wire attached.. idk if i goes with the black one, or its just saying thats the neutral wire but yeah, i need to know what to do.. thanks guys and gals.

okay, see the two output jack wires?

okay, well the black one with a white tip is the white output jack wire..

but heres where it gets weird, the other loose wire on the prewired pickguard is coming off of the R3 tone pot. whats wrong there?

So is it coming off the shell or one of the contacts? If its on the shell, that's normal, it's just a different place to connect to ground. If it's coming off the contacts, which one is it?
