i guess its all depending on what you listen to, like h2o is all motivational and shit, but then Carpathian's second album is deep as hell, and it just pulls at you.

Life Long Tragedy - Sweet Innocence.

Such a great song.
My style is impetuous.
My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious.
I want your heart.
I want to eat your children.

When i'm pissed, i listen to pissed off music to get more pissed, if that makes sense at all. That said, i find some Polar Bear Club really depressing. And Touche Amore.

I thought the whole idea of post-hardcore was to mix techno and hardcore.....
#21
Strangely enough most hardcore actually makes me happier and most regular shit I listen to burns me out (Damien Rice and Radiohead can really do that with certain songs). Closest I can get might be No.51 by The Carrier, or Jane Doe/Wretched World by Converge, which hold themes very relevant to my life.

"Crunkcore" and Metallica cover bands masquerading as hardcore groups depress me. I change my answer to that.

crunkcore bands dont depress me, they make infuriate me.

i said use the genre of hardcore "loosely" i didnt say set it on fire and rape it until pus oozes from every pore, which is currently what every crunkcore band is doing.

Life Long Tragedy = Win.

Their songs mean more to me than anything "sad" metalcore ever put out, and most people see Hardcore as a bunch of down-syndromers running on the stage yelling about hate. Gee, thanks for the image Hatebreed.

So I would say "Time Stands Still" and "Sweet Innocence" by Life Long Tragedy... which seems to be the favorite of a few people here. Saddest thing is that they are no more...

I'll feel a little down, then realize some depressing music will make me feel better, only to realize it makes me even more depressed. I seem to always do that too

I can't really think of one off the top of my head other than "When the Sun Sleeps" by Underoath, but it's metalcore.

Life Long Tragedy - Sweet Innocence.

Such a great song.

This song is amazing, every song by this band is heart wrenching. All the songs on the LLT/FF split are great.
Jane Doe is an epiphany every time I listen to it.
Ghost Town's EP The Way The World Ends is pretty damn depressing at points.
Songs To Scream at The Sun - Have Heart.

The Eyes of a Traitor and Misery Signals do some pretty depressing stuff. Although quite often it seems to have a glimmr of hope aswell. Very clever bands.
