alright heres the deal, my dell studio laptop dropped and the LCD screen cracked, its useless, Now I need DELL to repair this without that 500$ dollar out of warranty bill

I need tips and advice from long time hustlers

Im still under the regular 1 year warranrty, but I need to convince the guy on the other end of the phone its a hardware malfunction, that is the only way I can have a shipping box shipped to me, and a slim chance of getting it fixed

Once they get it they will either

1. repair the LCD screen to brush me off
2. or contact me, thats when Ill put the blame one the shipping caused the crack

case in point I need tips how to talk to these guys on the phone, vets help me out Im broke student living off ramen noodles

I believe

I was listening to a really exciting song whilst reading that, which made it seem like you were giving me a mission. Reading it the second time was no where near as fun.

you dropped it. that's not covered on warranty. It's your fault not theirs so they are not liable. Sorry man, but sounds like you're paying.

Wait... you hate your life because your laptop's screen broke? I never realised porn was that important to people...

or seriously you could take it to a local computer repair shop type place and see if they will do it?

Tell them the screen broke because you left the laptop on at night, closed, when you woke up it was unbelievably hot, and the screen was broken(it didn't work) and it looked like it was beginning to crack. You ventilated the laptop for a couple days to see if it would work but nothing happened. IF this works you owe me.

that sounds like a great story also

I dont know ether to go with this

or

it doesnt turn on and when they do turn it on blame it on shipping(and dent the shipping box to make it realistic)

Sounds like you're destined to help the TS

And I highly doubt you'd pull this off, warranty doesn't cover accidents and shit.

I suggest actually causing a hardware problem so when they receive it they don't realise that the only thing wrong was the broken screen and wonder why you sent it.

Although most things in laptops are stuck in the case and hard to access, RAM is the one thing that is easy to get to and will stop the computer from working. Open up the panel on the back and remove the RAM stick, screw it up somehow. Short circuit it maybe? you'll work something out. Put it back in and it should be good to not work. Now you'll have an actual reason to send it off (Don't know if broken ram would be covered in warranty though.. so maybe you'll have to find a way to break something less easy to get to)

there was never a accident

so whats the best story guys

1. It doesnt turn on, then blame it on shipping and handling

or

2.It overheated while it was closed and caused cracking

go with the overheating thing, because chances are, when you dropped it, you also damaged the microswitch/reed switch that tells the computer whether the lid is closed and that would tie in well with it overheating from not going onto standby.
You're using UG classic, congratulations.
You should be using UG classic.
