Guitar Center article about the new BOSS pedals

Guitar players around the world are waiting for the new BOSS pedals for 2010. BOSS has been known as the most popular boutique pedal builder, manifacturing the highest quality pedals out there, but with their new line of pedals they want to step up to the next level.

Here you can see the first announced pedal:

We interviewed the current BOSS CEO about this really interesting new stompbox, to get some information for you, guitar players.

Q: What is the new BOSS Fizz pedal?

A: Well, that's a good question. The answer is that it's a new Fizz pedal by BOSS.

Q: Which kind of sounds can you achieve with it?

A: It's pretty obvious. It gives you all your favourite BOSS Fizz sounds, which guitar players all over the world know from our previous pedals like the Metal Zone, Super Distortion, etc.

Q: So, it's basically a pedal to cover all the sounds from your previous distortion pedals?

A: Yeah, it is, but it's even more than that. It doesn't only give you all the Fizz of its predecessors, it even raises the amount of Fizz to a level you will not, and I really mean you will not, experience with any other pedal out there. That thing offers you the most fizz, gain, mud, feedback, hum, noise, etc. EVER!

Q: But aren't fizz, gain, noise, etc. sounds which guitar players actually want to avoid?

A: No, and I'll tell you why: Young guitar players have been buying our Metal Zone pedals for years and actually seem to like it. You know, they want to play teh br00tz, and those kids are the future.

Q: Talking about the pedal's features, what do all those knobs do?

A: First of all you have the Fizz-control, which obviously gives you more fizz.
The Level-knob which even rises the Level of fizz you get. Pretty logical, what?
The next control is the Mode. It gives you 3 Fizz-modes: F (Fizzy), M (Muddy) and finally O (OMFGWTF).

Q: Why is it called FZ-5? The current BOSS Fuzz has the same name.

A: I don't know.

Q: Would you give us any other informations about the new BOSS pedals?

A: Well, there have been rumours about the BOSS Talent Simulator and the BOSS Crabcore pedals. All I can say that 2010 you kidz can haz them!

How would it compare to, say, MXR's br00talz new creation?

Is that thing real?

However, nothing beats the BOSS Fizz.
