I normally don't post anything like this but I felt compelled after going over my collection. I listen to all genres but this year I've collected more quality metal than ever before.

Has this been one of the best years for metal?

Swallow The Sun - New Moon
Insomnium - Across The Dark
Katatonia - Night Is The New Day
Novembre's Doom - Into Night's Requiem Infernal
Behemoth - Evangelion
Nile - Those Whom The Gods Detest
Between The Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect
Fen - The Malediction Fields
Daath - The Concealers
Devin Townsend - Addicted
My Dying Bride - For The Lies I Sire
Sybreed - The Pulse of Awakening
Candlemass - Death Magic Doom
Slayer - World Painted Blood
Mastodon - Crack The Skye
Hypocrisy - A Taste of Extreme Divinity
Amorphis - Skyforger
Skyfire - Esoteric
Disarmonia Mundi - The Isolation Game
Scar Symmetry - Dark Matter Dimensions

I know there's a ton more that are great releases. Anyone else have a great year?

Its like every year has been getting better for metal.

It made a massive comeback.
Fire it up, let the engines roll!
It's time to burn it down!
Keep bleeding on till the day you die!
Forever love it loud, yeah!

You forgot Lamb of God's "Wrath".

Stop talking about crap albums please, cheers.

It has indeed been an exceptional year for albums, long may the trend continue.

That's exactly what I think.

Also, th erte was Megadeth's "Endgame" obviously, which was one of their best in years, and "No Time to Bleed" by Suicide Silence.

Indeed

Edit : I love how it isn't just one genre. It's been pretty damn good for all of them Death, Black, Thrash, Melodic Death, Progressive etc.

It didn't feature High On Fire, so fact: it wasn't.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

High On Fire fucking suck.

You're the most accomplished person in the world at anything you do.

See? I can spew nonsense as well.

Nonsense, what you said was perfectly true.

As a matter of fact I'm playing Tornado of Souls while making love to a 14 year-old with double D jugs right now.

Besides the fact that I can count 7 things you're doing wrong in that scenario, and that's just off the top of my head, it is quite obvious that what I speak is not only correct in reference to your lingual spewings being none more than that, spew, as I am obviously always correct, and am physically, mentally, metaphorically, theoretically and actually unable to be incorrect.

Cette nuit j'ai rêvé que je mâchais ses yeux
Après avoir crevé par accès de furie
Ta replète panse d'helminthes blancs nourrie,
Trop prompte à déféquer le fruit d'un vit sanieux.

To add to the list of great albums that came out this year:

Obscura - Cosmogenesis

Wann kann ich dich von diesem Ort wegbringen?
Wann ist der Tod unser einziger Zuschauer?
Wann können wir schreien anstatt zu flüstern?
Wann ist der neue Anfang das Ende dieses traurigen Madrigals?
