What do you think the happiest and saddest songs ever are? It doesn't have to be the lyrics, just what it sounds like or what mood it puts you in.

For me I've gotta say, as cliche as it is, Walking on Sunshine for happiest. I haven't heard anything that rivals that.

As for sad songs, right now it's probably Bomb by Bush, but I'm sure I've heard worst.
ones that just came to mind... not necessarily the happIEST or saddEST

phish - heavy things (just sounds happy... lyrical content not so much)

goodbye my lover- james blunt
rain city -turin brakes
sad song i'd probably say adagio for strings by taliesin orchestra off the top of my head... i know there are sadder songs, but i cant think of them right now, or violence by blink 182 because one of my good friends almost died the day that cd came out and this song was playing on my cd player when i got the phone call about it...

happy songs i always listened to yellowcard when i needed to get in a good mood when i had to work lasertag with little kids... my fav was life of a salesman i think
The two saddest songs I know would have to be 'Brenda's Got a Baby' by 2Pac and 'Dance With the Devil' by Immortal Technique. Both are difficult to listen to.
Patterns In The Ivy present ethnicity on an intriguing and dedicated level. ~Ambient Exotica
A mesmeric melange of yearning voice, delicate piano and carefully chosen samples. ~Lost Voices
Happiest has to be Good Day Sunshine - The Beatles

Your last job only paid you $7.00 AUD an hour? That's like $6.05 in the US. What the hell is the minimum wage over there?

hmmm happy i would think twist and shout by the beatles!!!!
sad= dont wanna miss a thing - aerosmith
saddest= tears in heaven - eric clapton
Happiest - Boston - "Don't Look Back"
Saddest - Radiohead - "Street Spirit (Fade Out)"
Happiest-Getting Some Head By: Lil Wayne
Saddest-November Rain By: Guns N Roses
Saddest: I Could Have Lied by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. John's solos are just pure emotion being bled out through his guitar.

As for happiest, it probably could be taken by RHCP too, but happy songs don't hit me as hard as sad songs, so it'd be hard to say.
Only play what you hear. If you don’t hear anything, don’t play anything.

What about I Know Its Over?
My style is impetuous.
My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious.
I want your heart.
I want to eat your children.
